Draugr on the Roof

This game is inspired by a common trope in Icelandic folklore and sagas – an evil undead – a draugr — harassing a household by “riding” on the roof. 

You are to take the role of people from such a household and together tell a story about one dreadful and long winter night. You are all gathered under one roof – and the draugr is waiting on it. 

While I had a traditional Icelandic setting in mind, the game can be played in any setting, as long as you can introduce a plot about a closely tied group of people in a small house dreading an evil undead. 

The game is GM-less, you would all take turns to tell bits of your common story. It will better suit a group of at least 3 players.

To play you’ll need pieces of paper large enough for one word, pens or pencils  and a hat or a bowl or a bag to put them in.
