Into the Darkness
A downloadable game
This is a small tabletop rpg game where players would become Travelers, venturing into the Dark Forest - a place alien and uncunny, to reach the Giant - a cosmic primeavl force trapped there since the begining of time. But their goal is not to slay the beast, but to understand them and free them. If they fail - the Giant would be destroyed and the whole world with it.
It can be played with just to persons - a GM and a player. You would not even need dices - just coins or any other form of randomiser will do.
I took inspiration from Hogson’s The Night Land, Lovecraft’s The Dream Quest for Unknown Kadath, Kelly’s and Niimura’s I Kill Giants, Over the Garden Wall, Arthurian legends, and different mythologies.
For illustrations I used the works of Theodor Kittelsen, Louis Gustave Doré, Jan van de Velde and Émile-Antoine Bayard, which, to my knowledge, belong in the public domain.
I apologize in advance for any mistakes; English is not my native language.
The game was made by Maria Morvil Solntseva with the help of Leonid Moyzhes and the rulebook designed by Anna Filidium Chubkova.
